BASIC ALTERATIONS AND GARMENT REPAIR

Calendar Mar 19, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 3 weeks

Apply your sewing skills in a useful way by learning to perform basic clothing care such as replacing buttons, zippers, hemming and taking in/letting out simple garments.  Students should bring 2-3 garments that need alterations or repairs.  It is best if these garments are the students own so that fittings may be done during class; these can be store bought items or homemade garments in progress.  Students will receive a folder of alteration and repair information and machine bobbins.  Bring a $10 lab fee to be paid to the instructor.  LIMIT 8

COLORFUL EASTER EGG IN A PICTURE FRAME

This Egg will become one of your favorite Spring/Easter decorations!  So colorful and bright!  Use colorful straws to make this simple and fun project!  No experience needed.  You will need to bring an 8"X10" or 11"X14" picture frame, glue gun and glue sticks to class.  There is a $4 lab fee to be paid to the instructor.

CROCHET – BEGINNING

Calendar Mar 4, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 4 weeks

In this class, we will cover pattern reading and basic crochet stitches including the foundation chain, single, double, half-double, and triple crochet stitches. Possible projects include coasters, dishcloths and a scarf. Bring H, I and/or J crochet hook, and one ball of any color "Lily Sugar-n-Cream/Peaches-n- Cream" yarn to the first class. Additional yarn and materials needed will be discussed in class. All instructions and patterns are written for right-handed crochet.

DECOUPAGE EGGS AND BUNNY FOR SPRING

The decoupage craze is back!  Come learn how to transform plain eggs and a bunny to get you thinking spring.  This is not just appropriate for Easter, you could leave these out all year long.  No experience necessary.  Lab fee of $5 to be paid to instructor at the class.

FABRIC TIED AMERICAN FLAG

Let your American pride show with this beautiful handmade tied fabric American Flag!  You will have fun preparing the fabric and tying on to a dowel to hang "free." No sewing involved.  Bring your favorite scissors and a $15 lab fee to be paid to the instructor the night of class.

FLORAL DESIGN SERIES 1

with Floral Expressions Design Staff

Calendar Mar 6, 2019 at 5 pm, runs for 3 weeks

This Floral Design class was created to help prepare students to become a Floral Designer Assistant. After some hands on training in a working flower shop over a period of time, the supervisor/manager of the shop will determine when the assistant is ready to transition to a Floral Designer. If you are considering a career in Floral Design, it is strongly encouraged to take both series of classes offered. Once both series have been completed, although employment is not guaranteed, Floral Expressions will assist with job placement. Please take note of registration deadlines listed for each class.

Week 1- Bow making

Week 2- Corsage and Boutonniere making

Week 3- Bridal Bouquet making

Students must bring a knife, scissors and wire cutters to every class or these items can be purchased from the shop for an additional fee of $25. Note: Due to the perishable items used in these classes, NO refunds will be given once classes have begun. Due to the time necessary to order supplies, registration deadline for class is Feb. 20th

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 1 payments of $100.00, paid every four weeks

FLORAL DESIGN SERIES 2

This Floral Design class was created to help prepare students to become a Floral Designer Assistant. Week 1- Preparation of flowers, containers, placement of greenery and create a small colonial bouquet.

Week 2- Make a traditional funeral arrangement

Week 3- Observe a casket spray and an easel spray demonstration

Note: Due to the perishable items used in these classes, NO refunds will be given once classes have begun. Due to the time necessary to order supplies, registration deadline for class is March 27th.

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 3 payments of $33.33, paid every four weeks

PERSONALIZED TILE COASTERS

Looking for a homemade gift for the Mom or Dad who has everything? Using Mod Podge, we will display your memories on the tops of the tiles and put felt on the bottom of the tiles to protect the furniture from scratching and water rings!  Some ideas to bring are photos printed on regular paper, maps of places you have traveled to, postcards, scrapbook paper or memorable events.  The instructor will provide some basic scrapbook paper.  All other supplies will be provided for a lab fee of $5 to be paid to the instructor at the class.
