ADVANCED SWEDISH WEAVING

Calendar Nov 12, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 4 weeks

If you enjoy Swedish Weaving then you will appreciate the advanced class. The instructor will choose a pattern and you will create a blanket of your very own.  Bring a $25 lab fee to be paid to instructor to cover materials. Weaving needles will be supplied and available to purchase for an additional fee if desired.  LIMIT 10

AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE-Beginner

Sign language, the use of fingers and hands to communicate is not just something for the hearing or speech impaired.  In fact, it can be an important learning tool for anybody.  Come join Loraine as she teaches you how to sign. (6 years – Adult)

Microsoft Excel is a software program that is used to organize, format and calculate data with formulas using cells and a spreadsheet system.Excel spreadsheets present tables of values arranged in rows and columns that can be manipulated mathematically. Boost your productivity, simplify data management and streamline everyday tasks by unleashing the power of Microsoft Excel’s capabilities.

The emphasis of this class will look at the basics of creating a PowerPoint presentation.

We will also work with Publisher. This program is used to create, customize and publish materials such as newsletters, brochures, flyers, catalogs and web sites. This class will concentrate on creating a tri-fold brochure using pictures, clip art and page borders. You will print and take home a completed project at the end of the class.

Basketball for Girls & Boys Grades 5 & 6

NOT CO-ED –games played against teams of same gender

Intramural basketball, sponsored by the Monroe Public Schools’ Community Education Department, will be offered for 5th and 6th graders this fall. Program is NOT Co-Ed and will not interfere with Girls Volleyball.

WHERE: Practices-your child’s school, Games-Monroe Middle School and Arborwood South

WHEN: Practices-1x or 2x per week usually right after school starting week of November 4th, 6 games between Dec 2nd - Dec 18th, weeknights/weekends. 

COST: $45.00 includes game t-shirt

BOOK FOLDING ART

Using a book, metric ruler, pencil, and pattern you will create a design on the edge of a book by measuring, marking and folding. You will learn the basic technique and see some advanced versions as well. Bring a $1 lab fee to be paid to the instructor.

DRUM LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS (Private)

6 Mondays starting Oct 14   3-9pm   $18/person per 1/2 hr.                                      

Learn the fundamentals of playing drums in the style of your choice; be it rock, blues, country or jazz. In addition to learning basic drumbeats and fills, the student will also learn to read notation and be taught to recognize and play different types of counts. An excellent class that you will really enjoy! Come and give that rock star inside of you a chance to shine!

Payment plan available: $36 deposit plus 1 payment of $72.00, paid every four weeks.

GENEALOGY: THE DNA TRAIL

Calendar Oct 16, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 6 weeks

This class will guide you through building your genetic tree utilizing your DNA matches on Ancestry.com. Learn how to interpret your DNA results, use your “cousin” matches to verify and extend your family tree, solve unexpected DNA matches, and learn what else you can do with your DNA results. You will need to bring a notebook, binder and divider tabs for the handouts. Please bring a $5 lab fee to be paid to the instructor.
