SWIMMING LESSONS (Monroe Swim Club)

Ages: 4 - 18

In addition to our travel competitive swim team (the USA program), Monroe Swim Club also offers 4 different levels of swimming programming. No matter your child's ability, we have a group for them! Not sure which group to put them in? No problem! During the first lessons, we will adjust groups based on their abilities. We hope to see you on deck. Swimming is a lifeskill everyone should get the opportinity to learn.

Ages 4+ - Located at Monroe Middle School Pool 

Monday & Wednesdays 5:15-6:15pm

Dates: Oct 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, & 28

Let's dive into the world of crochet! Bring in an "I" Hook along with a 4-weight acrylic yarn. (Both can be purchased at Knit-Picky & Hooked).    We will start with the basics and work at each person's own pace!

The AKC S.T.A.R.™ Puppy Program rewards responsible owners who take the time to train and socialize their new puppies. This program is the puppy level of the AKC’s well-known Canine Good Citizen® program. “S.T.A.R.” stands for Socialization, Training, Activity and a Responsible owner, all of the things a puppy needs to have a good life. This class is for any puppy, breed or mix under 7 months. Please bring health records with puppy on a 6-foot lead to first class. Retractable leads not allowed.

The Kids Power Karate Program offers traditional martial arts training to children ages 4 through 6 and emphasizes self-defense, physical fitness, conflict resolution, teamwork, and anti-kidnapping techniques. This program is designed specifically for children and teaches prevention first. It does not promote active aggressiveness, but teaches children to respect themselves, others, and the skills they learn. This introductory program to traditional Tang Soo Do has been commended by many communities, law enforcement personnel, teachers, and parents for the positive impact it has on children. It is a 20-year proven program that is positive, fun, exciting and educational. Wear loose fitting clothing. A parent or legal guardian must be in attendance for the first class to sign a waiver.

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN/THERAPY DOG PREP

The AKC Canine Good Citizen test is the foundation for therapy dog training. This class is based on teaching and training dogs with their handlers through positive reinforcement. We will prepare for evaluation and assessment for therapy dog work. Please bring health records and your pet on a 6-foot lead to class. The evaluation and certification for the AKC title will be a separate fee. Retractable leads not allowed.  

 

ABC'S OF MEDICARE

This free informational session explains the ABC’s regarding your rights and options with Medicare. We will add more detailed information on prescription medications for Medicare Seniors. This class is not affiliated with CMS or the federal government and is run by a non-profit agency called Sociably Secure.  NOTE: This will be taught on-line only, a link will be emailed to all students prior to the start date which will allow you access to the class.

MONROE CHEER FALL KIDS CLINIC 2026

The Monroe Coaching Staff and Cheerleaders would like to welcome any athlete interested in cheering at a varsity game with us to participate in this year's kids clinic! This is a great opportunity to get your athlete involved in our cheer community! Open to any incoming K-6th Graders!

When: October 9, 2026                                                                            Where: Monroe High School (901 Herr Rd. Monroe, MI 48161)       

Clinic: 4:00-6:30pm (MHS Commons)                                                          Game: 7pm - ? (TROJAN STADIUM)                                                  *Athletes participating in the kid's clinic will be cheering the first half if the game with us*  

Cost: $55                                                                                                      This will include:                                                                      

  • Group instruction by current MHS coaches and cheerleaders (Participants will be grouped according to age and each group will be led by Monroe Cheerleaders)
  • T-Shirt in their size
  • Participants will be able to cheer the first half of the game with us on the sidelines with the Varsity Cheerleaders at the October 9th Football Game (Which is also Jr. Trojans Night!)
  • This is a good chance to meet kid's from other schools, learn what it means to be a sideline cheerleader, learn basic skills, cheers, chants, a dance, and more.                                 
  • Pizza will be provided between the clinic and football game

Requirements:                                                                                      Payments should be made no later than September 18, 2026 through the Monroe Community Education Department either online at monroe-schools-community-education.coursestorm.com or by check or cash at the Community Ed Dept. at the Monroe Public Schools Administration Building (1275 N Macomb St).
