DRUM LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS (Private)

Calendar Apr 8, 2019 at 3 pm, runs for 6 weeks

$18 -person/per 1/2 hour for 6 weeks

3pm - 9pm (instructor will call to set up lesson time)

Learn the fundamentals of playing drums in the style of your choice; be it rock, blues, country or jazz. In addition to learning basic drumbeats and fills, the student will also learn to read notation and be taught to recognize and play different types of counts. An excellent class that you will really enjoy! Come and give that rock star inside of you a chance to shine!

FABRIC TIED AMERICAN FLAG

Let your American pride show with this beautiful handmade tied fabric American Flag!  You will have fun preparing the fabric and tying on to a dowel to hang "free." No sewing involved.  Bring your favorite scissors and a $15 lab fee to be paid to the instructor the night of class.

FLORAL DESIGN SERIES 2

with Floral Expressions Design Staff

Calendar Apr 10, 2019 at 5 pm, runs for 3 weeks

This Floral Design class was created to help prepare students to become a Floral Designer Assistant. After some hands on training in a working flower shop over a period of time, the supervisor/manager of the shop will determine when the assistant is ready to transition to a Floral Designer. If you are considering a career in Floral Design, it is strongly encouraged to take both series of classes offered. Once both series have been completed, although employment is not guaranteed, Floral Expressions will assist with job placement. Please take note of registration deadlines listed for each class.

Week 1- Preparation of flowers, containers, placement of greenery and create a small colonial bouquet.

Week 2- Make a traditional funeral arrangement

Week 3- Observe a casket spray and an easel spray demonstration

Students must bring a knife, scissors and wire cutters to every class or these items can be purchased from the shop for an additional fee of $25. Note: Due to the perishable items used in these classes, NO refunds will be given once classes have begun. Due to the time necessary to order supplies, registration deadline for class is March 27th.

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 1 payments of $100.00, paid every two weeks

GENEALOGY − WHERE DO I COME FROM? (spring)

Calendar Apr 11, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 6 weeks

This class is for both beginners and experienced genealogists. Beginners will start constructing their family tree with guidance. Experienced genealogists will have time and a place to continue working on their family tree and get the support needed to break down brick walls. The majority of class time will be spent working on the computers; however, time will be set aside to discuss the following topics: getting started, websites and resources, research techniques and tips, understanding, interpreting and transcribing vital records and other documents, maps, timelines and historical context, military, immigration and naturalization records, citations and documentation, the fan club, DNA, photo identification and preservation. Bring a notebook, binder and tabbed dividers to keep handouts organized. Come join the fun and learn more about your family. Bring a lab fee of $5 to be paid to the instructor.

GENEALOGY-DNA (spring)

In order to take this class, you must have had the DNA test completed.  Using computers you will learn: (please bring a $5 lab fee)

. how to interpret the test results from your personal DNA

. how to connect the genetic matches 

. learn what else you can do with your DNA results. 

GUITAR BEGINNING FOR TEENS & ADULTS (spring)

This group guitar class is for those with little or no experience. Students must be at least 13 years old and bring their own guitar to class. Come and join the fun!

GUITAR INTERMEDIATE FOR TEENS & ADULTS (spring)

Intermediate guitar will continue where the beginning guitar class left off. Students who have not taken the beginning class but would like to take the intermediate class should be able to read basic guitar tablature, have knowledge of basic open position chords; major, minor, seventh cords and basic cord progression.

 

HORSEBACK "ENGLISH RIDING" LESSONS (spring)

Are you horse crazy? Do you have a passion for anything "horses"? Come and experience the wonderful world of riding. Students will learn the fundamentals of English style riding. Hands on grooming, tacking and riding instruction provided by experienced instructors on our seasoned school horses. Please wear jeans or long pants and shoes or boots with a ½-inch heel. Safety helmets provided. Classes fill quickly so register early! Grades K-12.
